10 THINGS GETTING ME THROUGH THIS SEASON

The 10 things getting me through this season have been lifesavers. A “season” feels different for everyone, it could simply be the season of spring, a time of transition, a time of loss, or a time of change and growth. One thing I’ve learned is that it’s the little things that get us through.

Here are 10 things getting me through this season.

10. The Women, A Novel by Kristin Hannah

If you haven’t read any books by Kristin Hannah, now is the time to start. This novel, The Women, is a literary masterpiece that will enthrall you into the Vietnam War as the main character, Frankie McGrath. Frankie is a nurse who works tirelessly to save so many lives of many soldiers and becomes the hero we all need. I’m still reading and honestly can’t stop. It’s a page turner!

9. “Get Clean” Herbal Tea

Need a detox, or want to give your body a little TLC, this is a great go-to Get Clean Herbal Tea by The Republic of Tea Store. It has burdock root, milk thistle, red clover, and Indian Sarsaparilla. What does all of that mean? These are all herbs that help cleanse your liver and get your body back in balance and feeling good. A large mug of this hot herbal tea is getting me and my body through this season.

8. Random Wall Art, In An Unexpected Place

I found this adorable photo canvas of a donkey with a beautiful floral head wreath. I agree, it’s random. However, when I was a little girl, I actually had two pet donkeys. It’s a long story, short version… I lived on an island, and having a donkey as a pet wasn’t weird. This donkey wall art brought back wonderful memories of my own donkeys. I think when you are drawn to something, you should bring it home with you. Honestly, if something makes you happy or brings back a good memory, it is worth having. I also love this one, Underestimate Me, That’ll Be Fun wall art. So not only did I buy the donkey art, to keep life exciting, I put it in an unexpected spot. Hmm … Can you guess where I put mine? 😉

7. Yonanas

Do you have a Yonanas yet? It was my daughter’s favorite Christmas gift, and it ended up being mine too. This machine is so cool. It basically makes dairy free soft serve. All you need is frozen fruit. Do you know at night when you get that sweet tooth but are trying not to go crazy and eat an entire bowl of M&M’s?!? Pull out the Yonanas machine. My favorite is banana and mixed berries with cacao nibs on top. Yonanas is keeping me focused on my fitness goals and getting me through this season.

6. The Vital Plan Supplement – Mitochondria Support

I have been so tired since the time change and my energy has been low. Can you relate? I always turn to Mitochondria support from Vital Plan when I start feeling this way. Our body’s energy is generated through the mitochondria in our cells. This supplement has some very important ingredients that help cells detox and combat all those free radicals and help you stay healthy. I’m a huge fan and believer in all the Vital Plan supplements and herbs, they are game changers in feeling youthful, and I love all the products. *You can use code POH10 to get a discount at check out.

5. Cordless Touch Lamp

The perfect little Touch Lamp for any desk, night stand, bathroom vanity, or side table. It comes in a few colors, and the very best part, there’s no cord. You just charge it and set it out. I love how modern this touch lamp is and how it gives that perfect amount of light needed to get me through this season.

4. The Marco Polo App

Have you heard of the Marco Polo App? One of my very best friends suggested it to me, she lives in a different state. We would text here and there, and if we were lucky would get a hold of each other to talk on the phone, but it wasn’t very often. We both felt like we were losing touch and would forget about things we wanted to catch up on. Do you have a friend you’ve lost touch with? The app is a free video message so you can leave messages for each other, and it helps you feel closer to the person you are missing. This app is definitely getting me through this season and I highly recommend giving it a try.

3. Wax Stick for Hair

I’ve been really into the “clean girl” aesthetic, and then my fifteen-year-old daughter tells me the style I’m loving is no longer cool. Want to know what is? She tells me ~ “The Mob Wife”. LOL Maybe clean girl is out for teenagers, but it’s still in for me. Do you know what the clean girl aesthetic is? To get the clean girl look, you part your hair in the center and smooth it back into a nice middle to lower pony. Keeping everything smooth and tight. It works best if your hair is a little damp or has a little gel in it. The Wax Stick is my new go-to beauty product to smooth down the flyaway hairs and keep my style looking smooth and clean. You can use it for taming eyebrows, and I also use it on both of my daughters’ hair for their dance competition styles. It’s a beauty must have!

2. Silky TENCEL Duvet Cover

white cover and bedsheets with person under them

Pure heaven in a bed. My favorite place is probably being in my bed, with my cozy blanket, reading my Kristin Hannah novel, with my little cordless lamp, and/or chatting with my college freshmen. This Silky TENCEL duvet cover is so soft and luxurious. It’s great because it keeps hot sleepers cool and wicks moisture away, keeping you cozy all night and all season long. 1. Face Time Chats With My College Freshmen

Out of all the things that are getting me through this season, the number one thing and the most valuable thing to me right now is when I get to face time with my college freshmen. My firstborn went to study at a college out of state. It’s been an adjustment, but I’m doing much better than I anticipated. I mean, this was the goal all along – right? We raise our babies in hopes that they grow up to be self-reliant and independent of us. We want them to live on their own and figure life out. He’s doing it all, and loves his new life. He’s happy, so I’m happy! I do miss having him around, so any time we get to chat, and I can see his face or hear his voice, I’m thrilled. Hearing his stories and fun adventures are getting me through this season.
