We all know laundry is a never ending task that can be daunting and even a bit frustrating at times and I swear there must be sock thief living behind that dryer! 🙂 I spend so much time in the laundry room that I wanted it to be enticing!
Once I met with a great life coach who suggested I “barter” out things I did not enjoy spending my time doing. WOW! Okay, I said, would that apply to doing laundry? The life coach said – “Why not?” So the next day I hired a lady to come to my home and help me with with catching up on my families laundry. I was beyond excited! This might sound frivolous but hey – I despise doing laundry. I paid her up front which was my mistake because she literally quit on her first day only after doing about three loads. She threw in the towel and I didn’t blame her. She actually just confirmed my feelings about the never ending chore. 🙂

Floor
I saw a tile similar to this in a beach vacation home we rented. I always snap pics of design ideas I love when I’m at a rental home and even hotels. So I searched high and low for this exact tile and could not find it. The geometric design and colors of this optional tile would work nicely, so I went with it. I absolutely love it! It’s bold and really makes this space fun and unique. I have readers ask me about the name of this exact tile, and sadly I think it is no longer in stock. Appliances
The LG Washer and LG Dryer set are LG in this super cool color called graphite. The washer is 5.5 cu.ft. Smart wi-fi Enabled Top Load Washer with TurboWash Technology. I can fit a ton of stuff in there. I definitely prefer the top load washer because the front loads that I have had in the past get mildew in the rubber ring. I like the LG 7.3 Cu. Ft. Cabinets
The cabinets are Kemper wood cabinets painted black by the manufacturer. I prefer the look of the deep drawers and they hold so much. I keep my detergents and laundry supplies in the upper cabinets.
Hardware
The hardware / pulls are by Lew Hardware. They are a brushed gold color. They are durable and lovely to look at. I also used these in my kitchen, and liked the idea of threading certain design concepts throughout the spaces. Learn More about Lew Hardware.
Light Wood Shelves
The light Wood Shelves against the white and black is so fresh and bold at the same time. I did a similar look in the kitchen and weaved it into this space as well. These shelves were purchased from the cabinet company and am impressed with how strong and sturdy they are. I also love the color of the light wood. It’s an organic and raw layer that softens the room’s feel.
Utility Sink
This is the Magic Home Gunmetal Black 16-Gauge Stainless Steel in 23 inches. It is a single bowl undermount kitchen sink. I’ve never had a utility sink before and don’t know how I managed without one. This gets a lot of use, dog baths, craft clean-ups, washing shoes, and pre-soaking laundry. If you are doing a remodel or new build, consider adding a utility sink to your laundry room plan.

Counter
The counters are MSI quartz in Iconic White. Its a simple solid bright white color that provides a contrast to the bold geometric floor, and black cabinets. The color white brings fresh and bright into the room.

Pendant Light
This Modern Pendant Light is the perfect mix of mid-century modern and fun! Originally this light comes with an industrial round bulb, but when switched to a narrow bulb, it changes the whole look. It is simple but makes a statement.
Paint
See my post called Our Home Canvas for paint and trim colors. The walls are staying clean and neutral. Just because there is a place to hang a picture doesn’t mean you have to.
