AFFORDABLE HOLIDAY TABLESCAPES

Are you hosting this holiday season? No matter how overwhelmed you may feel, try not to worry because everything will work out. Even if it comes down to tossing out your burnt turkey and having to order pizza. My favorite part of hosting is creating beautiful and inviting tablescapes. It really doesn’t matter if you cook from scratch, have a potluck, or have a meal catered. The table is where your guests will enjoy the meal and the company, so make it the focal point.

Here are some inspirational ideas to help you create stunning and affordable holiday tablescapes that will leave your guests impressed.

USE NATURE

Using nature to decorate your holiday tablescape is my personal favorite because it’s festive and affordable. You can also get creative with what you use. Some of my favorite outdoor finds to bring in are: sprigs of greenery, fall leaves, seasonal berries, branches, acorns, pine cones and garden herbs. Use twine to attach greenery and keep the colors neutral and earthy.

GO VINTAGE

Using vintage table decor will give your table a romantic undertone, perfect for that smaller, intimate gathering. You will be amazed with the vintage items you can find at garage sales, or your local Goodwill and thrift stores. Look for unique chargers, crystal votive’s, glass vases, and a variety of fine china and dining ware. For a bonus vintage look, choose vintage plates that are mismatched.

SPARKLY COLOR

My favorite tablescape colors are silver, gold, or rose gold, but stick with one. You can easily find decor in these colors at many local stores, and it’s affordable. You can add in small color themed votive’s, holiday decor, and a variety of ornaments as part of the centerpiece. Light a few candles and watch the table shimmer and sparkle.

WINE AND DINE

I love the idea and look of setting classic wine bottles in the center of the table to create a focal point. This is also a great idea if you want the guests to self serve throughout the evening, which keeps you free to entertain and enjoy yourself.

PERSONALIZE

What’s the sweetest word someone can hear or see? Their very own name, of course! So personalizing your seating will be inviting to each of your guests. It’s also a nice way to help introduce new friends and separate those family members who don’t mesh well.

FRUITS AND GOURDS

Small pumpkins, funky gourds, small apples, red pears, and pomegranate add beautiful fall colors and dimension to a table. You can group smaller sized apples in small wooden bowls or create an arrangement by setting them in sprigs of evergreen on narrow trays.

No matter how you choose to entertain your guests throughout the holiday season, remember to be in the present moment and enjoy the precious time you have together.
