FOYER REVEAL

The Foyer of a home can be so small and simple or luxurious and grand. Along with the front door, it makes a statement to your guests. Gives them a glimpse of what to expect beyond. No matter the size of your foyer space, you can always add something to make a first impression and create an inviting entrance to your home space. I want my foyer to say to my guests ~ Hello and Welcome!

If you don’t have a lot of space to add a small table or bench, then look up and use that space. Meaning use your foyer light fixture to create the feel you are wanting your guests to experience. Light fixtures are so fun and are one of the easier things to switch out in a home. A top notch eye catching chandelier is a must have! Something that stands out but also flows nicely with your other fixtures. This Eye Catching Chandelier would look great in any Foyer.

I wanted our home’s foyer to be functional. So I asked myself what typically happens in this space?

A friend or family member may come over and in the midwest guests remove shoes as courtesy to the home owner. This can be difficult to do standing up, especially in the winter month with big clunky boots, so having a small bench in a foyer is very practical. It’s also a great spot for my kiddos friends to set their coats or special things they need to remember to take home.
Check out this similar Wood Bench and I really like the look of this Handcrafted Style Bench!

Throw a cute pillow on it to add some warmth and a layer of cozy.
You can buy a neutral throw pillow in Beige with Thin Black Stripes and/or in this Geometric Pattern to make a statement.

I love the idea of having a lively green plant in a Foyer. It’s inviting, and shows that the home is lived in and cared for. In the photo above this paragraph you can see I did not have a plant and it looks pretty bare. Just adding a house plant for under $15 really changes the look. Home Depot or even your local grocery store may have nice inexpensive house plants.

A rug that is neutral but unique is also a nice addition. It is obviously needed for dirty shoes but will also bring the area together to create a separate space. Buy a similar Jute Rug and /or this
Natural Round Jute Rug is great as well.
