BOHO BEDROOM REVEAL

My daughters had been sharing a bedroom for many years and there is nothing wrong with that, but now that my oldest daughter is a teenager she could use some personal space. So getting her very own room came at the perfect time.

My daughter wanted her to room to match her boho style and she also wanted to help with choosing every detail.

Paint

We wanted to keep the wall paint bright and neutral so we chose the white color I used in the entire house, Sherwin Williams Snowbound in Eggshell.
Read my Blog post Our Home Canvas for all of the details on paint, floors, and hardware. The wall paneling AKA wainscot is a style we saw in a beach vacation home. It has straight edges and is called a shaker wainscot. I brought this up the wall more than half way because the ceilings in this room are vaulted and a shorter wainscot would not look balanced.

Furniture

The furniture in the room all has the same organic raw wood appearance. The dresser is literally so basic and simple but it was just what we needed for size and functionality. We purchased it at IKEA. However, I found this Simple Wood Dresser and really like the color of the wood and how simple it is.

Children and teens can tend to accumulate a lot of extra stuff so I am always teaching my kids that less is more and if they bring something new into their space they should donate at least 3 things.
Declutter TIP: If you don’t LOVE something (anymore) you probably could pass it on to someone who will.

Since the dresser is simple and has no detail, to create a balance and bring in a more detailed piece to the room I invested in two of these very detailed boho night stands from Anthropology. They have aged brass legs and knobs. The intricate design is carved and painted white to give a contrast.
Love these so much, however, I found some that were just as unique and would work great in a Boho room below.

The all wood bed is the Bellevue Platform queen bed from Pottery Barn Teen. It was under $300. I wish I would have seem this Queen size bed frame first. I may even switch this bed frame out and BUY THIS!

Lighting

This Large White Wash Beaded Chandelier accented with aged brass is so pretty! It just fits this room and looks especially great with the high ceilings.

Mirror

Every teen needs a Tall Floor Mirror! For outift checks and selfies of course.
This ladder mirror has a beautiful wood grain color and is sturdy!

Curtains

These boho tassle curtains were what pulled the room together.
My daughter had already chosen this rich mustard color for some accent pillows, and a throw, so getting these BoHo Sheer White and Mustard Curtains was a no brainer.

Blinds

These shades are Zebra Shades by Allure.
They are operated by remote and let in the perfect amount of light.

Wall Art

The Round Vintage Butterfly Kaledisoscope Wall Art above the dresser was found at World Market.
*Sidenote- These are NOT real butterflies!

The colors in this wall art are stunning and dreamy all at the same time.

Easy Decor TIP: Stacking books and topping them with a decorative item, greenery, or candle creates asthetically pleasing decor to any room.
