PUMPKIN PIE SMOOTHIE

It’s Fall and time for everything pumpkin! Have you ever had the Pumpkin Pie Blizzard at Dairy Queen? It tastes like creamy sweet Pumpkin Pie in a cup. It is my personal favorite Fall indulgence! I probably don’t have to tell you that unfortunately, it’s full of processed ingredients and sugars. Here is a pumpkin pie smoothie that tastes just as good and it’s good for you. I even tried it with my kiddos and they all gave it a thumbs up.

INGREDIENTS

1 cup of canned of organic pumpkin

1 cup unsweetened Vanilla Oat milk or Almond milk

1/2 banana (frozen)

1/4 cup plain low fat or no fat greek yogurt

A few pieces of frozen avocado

1/2 tsp of cinnamon

Several ice cubes

Your choice of healthy sweetener (Liquid Clear Stevia Drops, Honey, Pitted dates, Maple syrup)

Want to add protein? Add one scoop of your favorite vanilla protein powder

Small Appliance – Blender or Ninja

DIRECTIONS

Add your ingredients to a blender cup and blend! Top with a sprinkle of cinnamon.

This can be a quick mid day snack, or breakfast on the go. In addition to beta carotene, pumpkin is packed with vitamins E, C, folate and iron. These all help strengthen your immune system and ward off germs.
